Improving patient safety is a learning experience for everyone involved

MAKING small changes can have a big impact on medicines safety. That is the key message of the "Quality improvement guide", recently published to provide you with a step-by-step way to improve your practice. The "Quality improvement guide — pharmacy edition" was launched in June 2012 at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Medicines Safety conference in London. The Welsh patient safety programme — 1,000 Lives Plus — has produced a series of improvement guides aimed at equipping healthcare professionals with the know-how to make changes to their practice that will improve patient safety, prevent harm, reduce wastage and ensure people receive the best care possible.
