Pharmacy underplayed in Wales

COMMUNITY pharmacy can and should do more to contribute to health services in Wales, the National Assembly for Wales has concluded after a review of Welsh Government policy (PJ 2011;287:106). In a report published this week, the Assembly's Health and Social Care Committee says that a key strength of community pharmacy is its ability to reach into communities that other services find difficult to penetrate. It says the Welsh Government should promote new enhanced services, including a national chronic conditions service.
