Digby Emson, former superintendent pharmacist for Boots The Chemists and past chairman of the Company Chemists' Association, has been appointed OBE for his services to healthcare in the New Year honours list for 2011. Two pharmacists have been awarded MBEs: community pharmacist Umesh Patel for services to healthcare in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, and Joshua Kerr for services to pharmacy in Northern Ireland.
