Prime Minister David Cameron this week confirmed that pharmacists are expected to play a key role in the new clinical commissioning groups, which the Government wants to see established as part of its reformed NHS. But he fell short of recommending that pharmacists should have a seat on the groups. He passed on his views about the role of the profession to Ash Soni — the pharmacist member of the NHS Future Forum, which has been overseeing the Government's listening exercise around the controversial Health and Social Care Bill.
