SWITCHING patients between different generic formulations of the same antiepileptic drug (AED) may cause greater changes in plasma drug concentration than switching them between a branded and generic product, a study has found. The research also shows that most generic AEDs provide a total drug delivery similar to their branded counterparts, but there are often differences in peak concentrations.
