"Clinical commissioning" and "clinical commissioning boards" sound just right. These were among the suggestions put forward at the first pharmacy listening event hosted by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society at the beginning of this week (p578 and p583) that will feed into the NHS Future Forum. The invited participants - representing all sections of the pharmacy family - argued that clinical commissioning should replace GP commissioning in the new NHS and should reflect the expectation that the commissioning of services should be multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral, and inclusive rather than exclusive.
