Reported occurrences of counterfeit medicines show this to be a global problem to which no country - developed or developing - is immune. Global problems require global solutions. The Professional matters article on anticounterfeit systems (PJ, 23/30 April 2011, p502), which discussed the European Parliament's pilot scheme, is clearly Eurocentric rather than global.
