Cancer awareness pilots: bids open

PHARMACISTS with experience in running early cancer diagnosis campaigns can bid for ￡100,000 to set up a local project to raise awareness of one of four named cancers. The Department of Health is funding up to 25 pilots to help increase early diagnosis of oesophagogastric, kidney and bladder cancers as well as breast cancer in women aged over 70 years. Bids must have the official support of a "senior sponsor" from a primary care trust, a cancer network, or a clinical champion from secondary care or general practice.
