THERE is little evidence that financial incentive schemes that reward GPs for improving patient health are effective, according to the results of a Cochrane Systematic Review published this week. The academics, from the University of Melbourne, Australia, warn that implementing similar initiatives "should proceed with caution" and that those which are introduced should be designed more carefully.
