Two drugs given go ahead in Wales

Recommendations for the use of HIV drug raltegravir (Isentress; Merck, Sharpe & Dohme) in Wales have been extended by the All Wales Medicines Strategy Group.Raltegravir can now be used, in combination with other antiretroviral medicines, for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in any adults who are resistant to or intolerant of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors or protease inhibitors, or who cannot take these types of medicines due to drug-drug interactions.
