Improve directions for GPs following an MUR

Pharmacists need to improve written recommendations to GPs arising from medicines use reviews (MURs), the results of an evaluation project released this week,have shown. The National Pharmacy Association and Primary Care Pharmacists' Association MUR support and evaluation programme (PJ, 5 April 2008, p386) took place between October 2008 and March 2009 and involved four primary care trusts (see Panel). Each PCT received project management support and the participating pharmacists received training on consultation skills and time management.
