Society concerned about pharmacy service cuts

Cuts to pharmacy services that have begun since the Government revealed its plans to scrap primary care trusts are "extremely concerning", according to Lindsey Gilpin, chairman of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's English Pharmacy Board.Speaking at the RPS conference this week, Mrs Gilpin said PCTs are giving up on important pharmacy services, such as smoking cessation services, before local authorites -which will be taking over the commissioning of public health services from PCTs - have had the opportunity to take them on board.
