It was a real surprise to see the photograph you selected for your"Spot the difference"challenge in your Christmas miscellany(PJ,.20/27 December 2008,p760).The name of the chemist was actually"J.R.Mason",located at 101 Leather Lane,London EC1 John Mason himself is on the left hand-side in the photograph,with his two long-serving assistants Marina Follv and George Cook.
