Practical way to regulate herbal medicines

I note that the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has conducted a survey and found that 77 per cent of the public believe it is important that there is some kind of regulatory control over herbal medicines (PJ, 17 January 2009, p38). I hope that it does not interpret this as an endorsement of the current traditional herbal medicine regulatory scheme introduced a few years ago.
