Pharmacists should have overall responsibility for the use of medicines in a care home or a group of homes in order to improve medicines safety, according to the recommendations from a study published this week.A pharmacist would be expected to visit the home every three to six months and "look at the whole picture", said Nick Barber, from the department of practice and policy at the School of Pharmacy, University of London, who conducted the research.
