Ownership rules do not breach European law

German and Italian laws that stop non-pharmacists from owning and operating pharmacies can remain in force and are compatible with European Community law, the European Court of Justice has concluded after bringing two sets of proceedings relating to the system of pharmacy ownership to a close.
