Improving services for patients taking warfarin

The role of a community pharmacy technician is often confined to the dispensary but I was keen to see if I could contribute to improving an aspect of patient care. A pharmacist at Dean and Smedley had begun to focus on providing medicines use reviews to patients taking warfarin, incorporating the recent National Patient Safety Agency guidance on actions that can make anticoagulant therapy safer, and I decided to work with her to improve the service that we offer to these patients.
