C difficile guidance from Health Protection Scotland focuses on better antibiotic prescribing

Guidance on prevention and control of Clostridium difficile-associated disease(CDAD)was published by Health Protection Scotland last week.The guidance states that use of antimicrobial agents is the most important predisposing factor for developing CDAD.Therefore,minimising exposure to antimicrobials reduces the number of people who are predisposed to infection.
