Pharmacists will play a key role in advising patients and helping them access trustworthy sources of information if they choose to pay for medicines not available on the NHS,the Royal Pharmaceutical Society said this week following the Department of Health's decision to allow patients in England to top up their treatment without forfeiting their right to free NHS care.However the Society says that the need for top-ups should be minimised as far as possible.
