This Government is clear that the NHS should be free at the point of delivery.If a patient wants something that the NHS does not offer then that patient must move fully into the private sector.True or false?This question has been under debate in the acute hospital sector for the past couple of years and is now brought into sharp focus by a review which is under way being led by Mike Richards,the Cancer Tsar.His review will be published in October and there is mention of it in"High quality care for all",the recent Department of Health report by Lord Darzi.The Department of Health is currently surveying opinion on this matter to support the review.
