We welcome Evelyne de Leeuw's engagement with our paper. We acknowledge that the paper, including the five case studies, emerged from a literature review but we sought to add a new perspective that would advance thinking on health and cities. Let me address the points raised.First, we agree that the Healthy Cities movement is based on an "unequivocal commitment" to a specific set of values concerning the prioritisation of health development.
