In The Lancet today, Talmadge King and colleagues report the results of the INSPIRE trial with interferon gamma-1b in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The investigators randomised 826 patients to receive interferon gamma-lb or placebo in a 2:1 ratio for up to 96 weeks.
