摘要

HoLEP is gaining acceptance as the new gold standard treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The procedure is less expensive than TURP and OP but produces superior urodynamic results.Unlike TURP and OP, HoLEP can be done on any size prostate with minimal morbidity and durable long-term results. These authors add to the growing body of literature supporting HoLEP by reporting that tissue resection with HoLEP is faster than with TURP and equal to that of OP. The study was designed to favor TURP and OP since HoLEP was done with multi-use blades, which can prolong morcella-tion when dull.
