The cotton industry's most influential business leaders weigh in on the latest cotton varieties. There's no denying the popularity of Dow's PhytoGen cotton varieties. The company's varieties account for over 10% of national market share, up from 5% just a few years ago "As you break that down, we really had about 70% market share in California, about 25% or more in the Mid-South, 25% in the Southeast and about 3% market share in the Southwest," says Duane Canfield, PhytoGen general manager and portfolio marketing lead. While those market share numbers are not as strong in the Southwest, Canfield says the company has designs to increase its role in the Texas market. The company hopes to replicate the popularity it has achieved in the Mid-South and Southeast, where PHY 375 WRF has been the company's workhorse.
