Though business has picked up considerably in recent months, molybdenum is still carrying the biggest discounts of all the payable metals in stainless steel scrap. Where the chrome in a typical parcel of scrap is valued at 65-70 percent of the metal price, iron at 70-75 percent of its reference price and nickel at 93-94 percent of cash LME, molybdenum is currently being credited at just 60 percent of the oxide price.
