Nickel/Europe gleams, Asia stumbles, US stagnates

Stocks at European service centres, the eye of last year's stormy conditions, are now back in balance with end-demand - indeed are relatively thin. Despite the strong euro and the resulting pinch on international competitiveness the mills have been able to raise prices. All they need now is for the eurozone economy, and stainless products demand, to prove resilient during what could be a testing year.
