Volatility has been the watchword of recent weeks. Not so much in the scale of the price movements. Nor in the volumes of spot business, which have been fairly quiet. But in thin markets prices have been swinging abruptly from one month to the next, sometimes from week to week, leaving players unsettled by the lack of direction.
