Concerns over the global economy and in particular Chinese demand have weighed on market sentiment over the past month. This has been a key contributor to further weakness in LME nickel prices over the past month. LME cash nickel prices fell to lows last seen in Q4 of last year to trade below $17500/t at the end of March. This represents a decline of almost 18% from the high of $21,830/t in early February.
