Molybdenum

Following a dip last month, molybdenum prices have bounced back across the board with quotes reaching five-month highs. The most active regions are Europe and China with the strength of buying activity, both for real consumption and for speculative reasons, fuelling regional price hikes. In Europe, demand has increased as many molybdenum consuming sectors, with the exception of stainless steel flats, are showing signs of picking-up. Consequently, prices of FeMo have risen by 3.00 dollars/kg in the last month to a level of 40.50-41.00 dollars/kg delivered, duty-paid by mid-November. Oxide prices have also increased, up to 16.10- 16.20 dollars/lb in-warehouse.
