Molybdenum prices rallied strongly in January on the back of continued tightness in supply and the resumption of buying after the Christmas period. Moving into February, prices stabilised at over 4.00 dollars/lb, as buying activity slowed due to weak underlying demand. Prices in the USA have moved above those in Europe again, after being overtaken for a short period. Oxide prices in Europe settled at around 4.10 dollars/lb drummed and delivered in early-February, up from around 3.70 dollars/lb a month before.
