Arsenic has become an important issue to the market due to the increasing supply of arsenic-bearing materials and the restricted capacity to treat them. From the supply side, there has been an increase in arsenic levels at large-scale operations, particularly in Chile. Second, as already mentioned, three new mines have recently come on stream with elevated levels of arsenic. Finally, a number of important mining projects have high arsenic contents, which means that the supply of complex concentrates could continue growing in the long-term.
