Midwest premiums increase as predicted, but more than expected

In April, the Midwest premium rose dramatically, and CRU's current estimated spot premium is between 9.00-9.500/lb. As we have stated the possibility that the premium could rise even further given the factors that were placing upward pressure on the premium do not seem likely to go away anytime soon. The increase is not surprising but the size of the increase is more than expected.
