Appendix D: Production forecasting methodology and guide to Chapter 2 & Appendix C tables

The basis for our forecasts of mine, smelter and refinery production is the CRU Copper Raw Materials Database (CuRMat), which contains operational data for mines, smelters and refineries. The data are shown in Appendix C, on an operation by operation basis. These include historical production and planned production at existing operations under ideal operating conditions. Our detailed table of projects is also included in Appendix C. The start up year is based on company projections together with CRU's view on what is technically feasible in the time period allowed.
