Chile's Environmental Regulator is considering revoking Teck Resources' environmentalpermit at its Carmen de Andacollo copper mine having identified a number of infractions.Some of the charges are considered serious, and carry the maximum fine of US$4M or thewithdrawal of the project's environmental permit. Teck, which received the regulators noticeon 22nd June, is reviewing its options, and has 10 days to present its plan to address theissues or 15 days to provide evidence. The mine is one of Teck's five copper mines, andcontributed nearly 6% of the miner's total revenue in 2014.
