Broadening of Er~(3+) electronic states in phosphate glasses

Absorption and emission spectra of Er~(3+)-doped and Er~(3+)-Yb~(3+)-codoped phosphate glasses have been studied within the temperature interval from 10 to 300 K. The analysis of Er~(3+) Stark splitting for the excited state ~4I_(13/2) and the ground-state ~4I_(15/2) multiplets is performed.
