Application of nonwovens as acoustic textile in automobiles

Noise is an unwanted sound and unfortunately most of the machines that have been developed for industrial purposes, for highspeed transportation, or to make life more enjoyable are accompanied by noise. Noise is an increasing public health problem according to the World Health Organisation's "Guidelines for Community Noise". Noise can have the following adverse health effects: hearing loss, sleep disturbances, feel tiredness, cardiovascular and psycho physiologic problems, performance reduction, annoyance responses, and adverse social behaviour. Therefore, it is very important to control or reduce noise from traffic, and in factories, offices, and houses. Noise also significantly decreases productivity in various environments.
