AN American entrepreneur has invented and developed a new, patented economical design of a mechanical compactor for knitted fabric shrinkage control. The machine features a single-pass operation for open-width and tubular knits, resulting in energy savings, reduced costs, and improved profits. This new design does not use any felt blanket or rubber belts or shoes, thus resulting in minimal, low-cost maintenance, and minimal cloth glaze. There are no belts to track or shoes to adjust, and no gap settings are required for fabric thickness. Current design can accommodate fabric up to 2.5+ metres wide, machine speeds up to 60 metres/minute, and compaction rates up to 30%. Machine dimensions are approximately 4.2 metres wide x 1.4 metres tall x 1.4 metres deep.
