The structural difference between ring and rotor spun yarn and their influence in the behaviour of the two categories are well-known. It has been pointed out that in the case of ring spun yarns, the development of tension during tensile strain increases the inter-fibre friction interaction and more fibres are constrained to rupture before the failure of the yarns.
