Man-made textiles export to touch an all-time high

Mr Ganesh Kumar Gupta, chairman of the synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) said that, "Despite the crisis, the exports of Indian Man-made Fibre Textiles are estimated to touch an all-time high of US 3,481 million (Rs 15,863 crore) during 2008 - 09; Showing a growth of nearly 4% in dollar terms and 18% in rupee terms compared to the previous financial year. The 4% export growth in dollar terms during 2008 - 09 was the lowest in last 6 years. Moreover, for the first time in several years, Council could not achieve the export target of US 3,600 million set for the year."
