Automatic lap changing and piecing on the comber is the counterpart to auto doffing on the ring spinning machine.The proportion of doffer machines in new ring spinning installations has grown considerably in recent years.Auto doffing is increasingly becoming the standard,also in low-wage countries.This trend will assert itself in combing operations too.Rieter is the only comber manufacturer offering this automation feature.The economical solution consists of the automated E 76 comber with integrated ROBOlap system(latest model after E 75)in combination with the semiautomatic SERVOtrolley E 17 lap transport system(Figure 1).
