Steel sheet prices have continued to increase in August given ongoing supply tightness and after the rapid $40/s.ton increase seen from June to July. HR coil prices in the 14 Aug 2013 assessment are up further, by $13/s.ton from July to $649/s.ton, though weekly prices averaged $645/s.ton over the past four weeks as price momentum has clearly slowed. Prices for CR coil and HDG coil have followed the same trend, with the current CR coil price at $754/s.ton and HDG coil at $814/s.ton, including the $58/s.ton G90 coating weight extra, reflecting a base price of $756/s.ton.
