FAILURE to mitigate and adapt to climate change has been ranked as the number one risk in terms of potential impact for 2016, in an annual report published by the Global Economic Forum. Briefing reporters at a conference in London in January, experts noted that this is the first time since the report was first published in 2006 that an environmental risk has topped the chart (see graphic). They also warned that the annual assessment shows that risks are broadening and becoming more interconnected.
