Netherlands puts five-year ban on tracking

THE DUTCH government is putting a stop to all shale gas drilling for five years, saying there is "great uncertainty" over its environmental and geological impact. The cabinet will not allow any commercial exploration for shale gas and will not renew any existing exploration licences.
