Chemical engineer to be president of Imperial College

IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON has announced that Alice Gast, a prominent chemical engineering professor in the US, will become its president and rector from July 2014. Gast is currently president of Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. US, and sits on Chevron's board of directors. She was also appointed a US science envoy by secretary of state Hilary Clinton in 2010 and has been on several visits to Central Asia to promote science and technology.
