THE concept of virtual reality is often seen as a bit of a fad or a gimmick. JL But with plenty of the world's biggest global technology companies are now getting in on the virtual reality act, it might be time for a rethink. Google, Samsung and Sony are all developing their own virtual reality headsets and let's not forget Oculus Rift, a start-up bought by none other than Facebook for US$2bn earlier this year.
