CANADIAN engineering giant SNC-Lavalin has bought UK oil and gas services provider Kentz for￡1.2bn(US$2.04bn). SNC-Lavalin wants to become a global tier-1 engineering and construction firm, and the company says that Kentz will make it a leading player in the oil and gas industry, as well as expanding its reach in growth areas such as the Middle East, North America and Asia Pacific.
