Export prices for finished flat products remain unchanged, while slab prices see another leap

Following the rise in export prices last month and the depreciation of the rouble, Russian producers increased domestic prices in February. Yet, finished products export prices have moved sideways m/m, while tighter supply from Russia contributed to another increase in the price for slab. Buying activity in the export market is expected to continue next month, providing support for CIS flat product prices. Nevertheless, this increased activity is likely to ease in April following the historical trend seen in the last three years, leading to a marginal fall in export prices.
