This appendix gives information on firm, probable and possible expansions to nickel capacity both for the duration of our forecast period and beyond. Our estimates and forecasts of world nickel production capacity are shown in Tables S18-27. Table B.1 lists all major known brownfield nickel capacity expansions and the main planned greenfield additions to capacity. Our definitions of capacity changes are as follows: Firm: There has been a definite decision by the company involved to commit funds to a project, or construction has started. Probable: Those projects where feasibility studies have established the viability of the expansion or new project and where, in CRU's opinion, there is a significant chance that the project will proceed.
