The market outlook

During the past three months, a deteriorating economic and industrial outlook has reinforced our view that nickel supply will rise more quickly than demand during the next two years, leading to expanding market surpluses and deteriorating nickel prices. A recovery from 2014, however, remains our core forecast particularly as the negative effects on demand are likely to be most pronounced in the interim when formerly delayed refining projects will be ramping up production.
