Lanxess sees PBT's potential in vehicle exterior

Lanxess has developed new grades of its Pocan polybutylene terephtha-late (PBT) materials for vehicle exterior body parts, including fuel tank flaps, front grilles, bumpers, sills and door handles. Pocan B 5220 XF is a PBT reinforced with a glass bead content of 20%. Lanxess says it is an alternative to blends of polyphenylene ethers and polyamide (PPE+PA), which are often used in fuel tank flaps because they can be painted on a production line.
